U2 week: Beautiful day

It’s really a beautiful day… Seventeen years ago (seventeen!!) I started working in Lepe. The same day my niece Ana was born, it was such a coincidence. So I want to congratulate her on her seventeenth birthday with this song, which is a shot of optimism and hope. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANA!

U2 week: Pride (In the name of love)

This song was written by Bono about Martin Luther King Jr. It is acknowledged as one of the best of the Irish band career. Originally composed twenty-six years ago, it has remained as one of the official hymns of the band.

U2 week: The sweetest thing

I had the opportunity of watching U2’s concert in Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the summer of 2009. It was an amazing gig, one of the best I can remember. They call it «the 360º World Tour», it crossed the ocean and went on the road in the States and Canada and now they are back in Europe to finish it in style, here, in Spain. They will be in Seville next Thursday after performing in San Sebastián as well, so it´ll be nice to review some of the videos of the Irish group throughout the week. Here comes the first.

The song was reportedly written by Bono as an apology to his wife Ali Hewson for having to work in the studio on her birthday during The Joshua Tree record sessions. Click next to get the lyrics: U2 the sweetest thing
